OIL PAINTING

Kathryn Dynes Klemp is a professional artist residing in Hartford, Wisconsin with her husband Ron. She has been painting for 17 years.  Her latest series, With Wings and Wind" is inspired by Isaiah 40:31

Isaiah 40:31 

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." 

The subject matter of birds, bugs, and trees represent characteristics humanity strives to obtain.  The birds represent freedom, the trees represent peace and bugs represent a childlike joy. 

The backgrounds are abstracted and represent Kathryn's view of God, of always being present and yet not visible to our eyes.  She uses pattern to show God's consistency.  The background is surrounding the subject matter to show God is love. 

There is no need to frame Kathryn's work because she paints the edges of the gallery stretched canvas.  She does this so that the image is viewable from all points of view.  It  engages the viewer sooner into the piece and gives it a more contemporary look. 

Kathryn's paintings are rich in color, intense pattern, and movement.  Kathryn's message of hope is what she hopes viewers will see in her work.  The hope of freedom, love, joy, and peace.
